You can watch the Carabao Cup fifth round draw live on Twitter tomorrow. The quarterfinal round draw will take place at 4pm GMT on Wednesday October 25. Phil Tufnell and Matt Dawson will draw the balls out of the eight team pot, for all users of the micro-blogging platform to see.
Manchester United are the defending League Cup champs, having beaten Southampton in the final February 26, when the tournament was called the EFL Cup.
The previous season, this tourney was known as the Capital One Cup.
United beat Swansea City tonight 2-0, powered by a Jesse Lingard brace. Additionally, Leicester City, Arsenal, Bournemouth, Bristol City and Manchester City all won their round of 16 games Tuesday.
Tomorrow’s Carabao Cup draw will take place even before Chelsea takes on Everton and Tottenham Hotspur battles West Ham United in their fourth round clashes.
Really the major story here though is how ground-breaking it truly is to have an event like this featured on a medium that’s 140 or characters or less. It’s revolutionary, and likely a fantastic indicator of future trends. This is the first time ever that a draw for the last eight of a major English tournament will be streamed live through Twitter.com

It will be really interesting to see how popular, or unpopular, this Carabao Cup initiative ends up being. We’ll then see if other tournaments go this route.
