We’re currently on another international break, which typically means a snooze fest in regards to actual on-the-pitch action. However, sometimes major news is made in regards to injuries and unfortunately that is the case again this break, as United and England defender Luke Shaw suffered a concussion Saturday night.
We’ll get you an update on that, and cover some off-the-pitch topics, so let’s take a spin through the latest Manchester United news and notes items, starting with manager Jose Mourinho.
He’s making the internet rounds right now for taking this tumble at Wembley Stadium over the weekend.

Obviously, he’s fine though, as you saw him bounce right back up.
-FIFPro, the worldwide players’ union, asked their membership to select one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards for their FIFA FIFPro World 11 list.
The Premier League landed 18 players on the list, which is based on performance during the 2017-18 season. United landed three players on the list forward Romelu Lukaku, goalkeeper David de Gea and midfielders Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.
NBC Sports has the whole list over at this link.
Getting back to Shaw, a young man who has certainly endured a ton of injuries over the course of his career, at least this time the setback is not very serious. According to England manager Gareth Southgate, he should be back in action in just a week.
Via Goal:
Speaking to reporters ahead of England’s friendly with Switzerland, Southgate said: “All being well, he [Shaw] has a mandatory six- or seven-day period [of not playing following the concussion].
“But he should be back in [training] as soon as that is done.”
He’ll still likely miss United’s UEFA Champions League group stage opener against Young Boys though, unfortunately.
On a side note, Shaw also received sympathy from a very unlikely source, football super villain (at least in England) Sergio Ramos.
