Liverpool had a brutal loss to Crystal Palace last weekend, coupled with seeing their competitors lose the gap for spots in the top four. It’s looking like the Reds may need to take all 12 points in order to make the Champions League next season.
The good news for Liverpool is that they should get some of their key players back for the stretch run, starting Monday night at Watford.
Simon Mignolet remains in net and barring injury will stay there for the rest of the season.
Dejan Lovren got beat twice for the two goals against Palace, but will remain in the center of the defense with Joel Matip. Lovren was awarded a new contract this week, that will keep him at Liverpool moving forward.
The biggest news for Liverpool is Adam Lallana likely returning from his thigh injury that he suffered during the last international break. He should move straight into the line-up, with Emre Can moving into a defensive midfielder role and Gini Wijnaldum working the other side.
Liverpool’s attack should also get a boost on Monday with Daniel Sturridge ready to come back from injury. It is unlikely Sturridge gets into the starting XI, but he will be a good option off the bench behind Firmino, Divock Origi and Coutinho.
