Liverpool returns to action for the first time in two weeks on Monday when they travel to Leicester City. The defending league champions sacked manager Claudio Rainieri midweek and are battling at the relegation line.
Liverpool went into their break on a high, blasting Spurs 2-0 and will look to build on that on Monday.
Simon Mignolet was sharp in pitching a shut out against Spurs. He will look to duplicate that on Monday.
Clyne, Matip and Milner will all for sure start on Monday. Lovren is a question mark as he is still battling a knee injury that has kept him out the past several games. He has returned to training, and if he is good to go, he should play over Lucas and Ragnar Klavan.
Georginio Wijnaldum played his best game in a Liverpool shirt against Spurs and seems to have earned his place back in the starting XI. Wijnaldum picked up a slight knock on his calf while the team was training in Spain in their off time, but it doesn’t appear to be serious.
Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana seem to have good chemistry with Wijnaldum and that will be important to build on with just Premier League games to focus on for the Reds.
Offensively, there is no reason to change anything. Sadio Mane scored both goals against Spurs. Firmino and Coutinho played their best games in several weeks the last time out and the chemistry they have with Mane seems to have been rekindled. If they can regain their form from December, Liverpool will be a dangerous team the final few months of the season.
