It’s another international break and thus, kind of a slow time when it comes to big headlines, but there’s still a whole lot of important Liverpool FC news items out there. Here are links to some of the more relevant Liverpool news stories currently circulating on the internet.
–Virgil van Dijk, who broke both the LFC and world defender transfer fee records when he moved to Anfield from Southampton in January, has been named team captain of the Netherlands.
“I am very happy with it, it is a great honor to be the captain of your country,” Van Dijk said at a news conference Thursday, ahead of Netherlands’ international friendly with England.
“Everyone knows that Koeman gave me the chance at Southampton, I am very grateful to him. This is very special.”

After all, to get there you arrive at John Lennon Airport, the greatest name for an airport in the entire world. Until Philippe Coutinho was sold to Barcelona, the Reds high-powered attacking quarter had the same nickname as the city’s most famous citizens: the fab four.”

–Steven Gerrard has admitted to initially struggling in his adaption to life now as a manager, but he’s been aided by the advice of Jurgen Klopp. Gerrard says the help of Klopp has been like “gold dust.” Here’s the Daily Mirror with more.
