It’s another international break and thus, kind of a slow time when it comes to big headlines, but there’s still a whole lot of important Liverpool FC news items out there. Here are links to some of the more relevant Liverpool news stories currently circulating on the internet.
-Officially headed to Liverpool, but currently with RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita is in legal trouble for using a false driving license. Keita will have to pay a fine of €250,000 “on appeal for submitting false driving licenses to authorities,” reports the Associated Press.
“News agency DPA says that the president of the Leipzig court confirmed that it had set 50 daily sentences of €5,000 each for the player. The fine was aligned to Keita’s income, reportedly around €2 million.”
-Mo Salah scored early, but Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a brace late to push Portugal past Egypt 2-1 in an international friendly Friday night. The match-up of Europe’s top two scorers has the whole world’s media talking about the various debates supporters are having in the wake of this clash.

Meanwhile the Liverpool Echo says Salah is the favorite to win the PFA Player of the Year award, but he shouldn’t be.
-Elsewhere Joe Gomez wants to soak up, like “a sponge” all the knowledge that he can from Virgil van Dijk, the world’s most expensive defender. Gomez doesn’t see VVD as an obstacle to his playing time at all.
“I didn’t see it as blocking my path or anything like that. It’s a great opportunity to learn from him,” he said (via Sky Sports)
“I am not overly stressing about it or paranoid about other people coming in. It’s great to be in environments where I can learn from players like that. I am just trying to soak it all up and be the best sponge I can be.
“I think he has a great presence, everyone sees that. He is very dominant in the way he plays and his body language shows that he has quality on the ball.”
