Liverpool sits fourth in the Premier League table, but Arsenal and Manchester United are close behind and have a game in hand on the Reds.
That makes Sunday’s match-up against Burnley really important for Liverpool, and it is the kind of team Liverpool has struggled with this season.
Liverpool won’t be at full strength for the game.
A new injury concern has emerged with forward Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian was unable to train most of the week. He will have a late fitness test prior to the game.
Two other internationals are definitely out for Liverpool. Jordan Henderson continues to battle a foot issue and will be out against Burnley. Daniel Sturridge will also miss the clash as he continues to recover from a hip injury.
The Reds could get some good news on the Dejan Lovren front. The center back has returned to training as he recovers from a knee issue. He is in contention to start on Sunday.
Marko Grujic also is inching closer to fitness. He played 60 minutes for the U-23s this week as he returns from leg issues. Grujic could soon be an option off the bench for the Reds.
According to SkyBet, Liverpool is receiving 2/9 odds for a victory. SkyBet is giving 12/1 odds for a Burnley win, and 5/1 odds of a draw.
