Liverpool FC are looking very strong as they head into their blockbuster weekend fixture at arch-rival Manchester United. They are undefeated across all competitions since January 30, accumulating an 18-3 goal differential in seven matches over that span. Their fine form has landed them at #5 this week in Shaka Hislop’s European power rankings.
LFC were unranked last week in the table composed by the former goalkeeper and current ESPN FC pundit. The four teams ahead of the Reds in the rankings, in order, are Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester City and Juventus.
City and Liverpool are the only two Premier League sides to make the rankings, which goes 10 deep. For the full list go to this link.
“Good development in Liverpool at the moment, it’s a nice moment, but you don’t show up in a competition like the Champions League and nobody really will realize it,” Reds boss Jurgen Klopp said after the Reds officially qualified for the Champions League quarterfinals.
“I’m happy for all the people involved that we made that step. It’s done, it’s good and now let’s go and carry on.”
