Daniel Sturridge is struggling for playing time at Liverpool, as the fab four have been dominant in attack. With Philippe Coutinho now moving on to Barcelona, the possibility exists that he could be given more opportunities, but it’s still not likely. Sturridge is far out of favor when it comes to Jurgen Klopp’s selection, and of course, there is his history of fitness issues.
The English international has only made five appearances in UEFA Champions League action, and nine in Premier League competition. He has yet to make the starting XI on any occasion.
He’s seeking regular action, amidst worries that his lack of playing time could get him left off England’s World Cup roster. He’s seeking a move to Inter Milan, and the Daily Mail has more:
“The 28-year-old frontman has offered his services to the Italian giants in an attempt to to prove both his fitness and form to Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate, according to Tuttosport…Sturridge’s current deal at Anfield has 18 months left to run but he could seek a permanent move away from Merseyside before then.”
Daniel Sturridge, who has seen a once extremely promising career at Anfield head on a downward trajectory in recent years, has scored just three times this season.
