There’s a derby for Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, and the Red Devils are fighting the Gunners for advantage in it. Manchester United just completed their first purchase in this summer transfer window, in Ander Herrera, and they appear to be in a tussle with Arsenal for Sanchez.
It seems like Liverpool and Juventus have dropped out of this one.
The Express have claimed that the Chilean is available for £20 million, with United eager to match that valuation now in order to secure his signature. You know Louis van Gaal has a huge transfer kitty to work with, so that could work to United’s advantage. However, they cannot offer Champions League football.
Alexis Sanchez was the subject of a £16.5 million bid from Juventus, but it was rejected because it was below the asking price.
The Telegraph reports that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger made an inquiry to Sanchez, while the Daily Mail says The Gunners boss has been tracking him since 2009.
The Daily Star have a story on this transfer rumor today; while the express claims that Wenger will have to decide between signing Mario Balotelli and Alexis Sanchez; he can’t have both.
