It promises to be a very exciting summer transfer window at Liverpool, with plenty of potential comings and goings. Manager Jurgen Klopp has already made public remarks promising additions beyond Naby Keita this summer, so the tabloids and back pages are going to be quite busy this silly season.
So, let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today.
After Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat at Chelsea yesterday, Klopp dismissed the report claiming his club have agreed to take Nabil Fekir (along with his young brother, Yassin, as a sweetener) from Lyon in a £61m combination package.
“During the game, we agreed a deal?” the German said playfully and sarcastically. “I would be surprised about that to be honest. No comment.”
The Lyon team Captain also publicly shot down this narrative.
“There’s nothing for the moment. I’m still at Lyon,” Fekir responded when asked about his future at club amidst Liverpool (and Chelsea) speculation after his side’s 3-0 victory over Troyes yesterday.
“There are two matches left. We’ll prepare for them in the best possible way. At the end of the season, we’ll see, but for the moment, there’s nothing.”
In example of how everything is related/domino theory/six degrees of Kevin Bacon, you recall what Barcelona did with that massive financial windfall they received for selling Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain?
Now Dembele is being linked to the Merseyside, according to ESPN.
Another player on Liverpool’s radar, and once again a winger, is Wilfried Zaha. The reportedly £50m-rated Crystal Palace man is an Anfield target, according to Metro who add that “Zaha was wanted by Tottenham last summer, but the winger has now attracted interest from several of Spurs’ rivals.
