It’s international break, and there’s only so much you can cover regarding injury news, so it’s time to talk Liverpool transfer rumors. Let’s take a spin through the internet and see what’s buzzing.
-Manchester United are reportedly trying to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, who is also wanted by Juventus. Brendan Rodgers didn’t do a whole lot right with his transfer business during his time at Anfield, but if Can sparks a bidding war, then the German might yield a very nice profit for Liverpool on their investment at least.
TalkSPORT points out that “The 23-year-old is still yet to agree fresh terms at Anfield and his future has been thrown into doubt. Juventus were in hot pursuit of the Germany international during the summer and were expected to rekindle their interest in January.”
“However, according to the Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United could turn their attentions towards Can and scupper Juve’s chances of signing him.”
It’s another story angle to add a little more spice to their meeting a week from today.
-Elsewhere, Anfield are reportedly interested in Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, as they have sent scout to observe him. Tottenham Hotspur has as well, meaning a bidding battle between the two clubs for the Frenchman currently on loan with Valencia could ensue. However, La Liga club has a £22 million option to make their loan deal permanent at the end of the season.
The Daily Mail have more on this situation, and they point out how: “Kondogbia has made five starts for his new club, who sit third in the the table behind Barcelona and Sevilla. Tuttomercatoweb reports that both Spurs and the Reds have sent scouts to watch the player and have been suitably impressed.”‘
-Finally, ESPN FC links a story from the Daily Mirror which instructs us to take the Adrien Rabiot rumors with a grain of salt. The Bristol based publication opines how:
“It’s possible that too much is being read into this rumour, but Liverpool fans will no doubt be interested in talk of Adrien Rabiot heading to Anfield. The talented midfielder shone in PSG’s 4-0 thrashing of Barcelona in the Champions League last season — the less said about the second leg, the better — and has started every match in Ligue 1 this year.”
