Tuesday night sees Liverpool hosting Koninklijk Racing Club Genk, commonly known as KRC Genk, Racing Genk or simply Genk in UEFA Champions League group stage action. The reigning European champions currently sit second in Group E, but a win here would, for all intents and purposes, book passage through to the knockout round.
Genk come in to this one as the group’s bottom side, and massive underdogs as they enter the fortress that is Anfield. Let’s take a look at team news for this one, starting with the UCL holders.
Nathaniel Clyne and Xherdan Shaqiri remain out as long term injury absentees, with central defender Joel Matip unfortunately joining this group since the last time these two clubs met.
The good news is that Jurgen Klopp has no new injury concerns for this one, with everybody who recently had questions of match fitness coming through the weekend win at Aston Villa unscathed. As for Genk, they will be sans are first team goalkeeper Danny Vukovic due to an Achilles injury.
Second choice shot-stopper Gaetan Coucke gets the call here.
