Liverpool heads to Manchester United on Sunday in a fixture that is a “circle the date on the calendar” grudge match with huge Premier League title and top four implications.
Both managers met the media today with the headliner quoter from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp; who believes his counterpart on the opposite touchline on Sunday, United interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, should be given the job on a permanent basis.
“He has the quality,” said Klopp.
“He deserves [the job] 100%.”
“He’s in charge and there is no doubt he will be the manager next year as well. That’s clear.”
Solskjaer has won 11 of the 13 games that he’s been in charge, and if he is to get the full time appointment at the end of the season, it won’t be just Klopp who feel it’s deserved. A lot of United supporters believe he should get the gig, as do many of the players.
Forward Anthony Martial has publicly expressed his desire for the Norwegian to remain in charge beyond May.
Here’s the video of the Solskjaer session from today, as he prepares his side for the visit of Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday:
