Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho gave his weekly press conference on Friday (video available here at link), and it included some updates on the long term absentees.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, on the sidelines since suffering an ACL injury in April, should be back before the calendar changes from 2017 to 2018. As for Paul Pogba, the timeline for his return is still very much unknown.
“Zlatan is here, he’s working here, under our control,” Mourinho said ahead of the trip to the John Smiths Stadium to take on Huddersfield Town A.F.C. tomorrow.
“He’s working so, so, so, so hard but he’s not to going be back in the next week or couple of weeks, let him take his time and be back when everyone feels it is the right moment.
“Do I think he will be back in 2017? Yes I do. But it is just a feeling.”
“Paul is not here,” Mourinho said in reference to Pogba. “I don’t know when he comes back, when he’s available, I’ve no idea.”
