Tottenham Hotspur really want their superstar striker Harry Kane to win Golden Boot this season, and today they got a massive boost. The club appealed the Football Association to take a goal given to Christian Eriksen, but initially awarded to Kane, and have it credited again to the 24-year-old Englishman.
Today, the FA granted Spurs their wish. The goal in question was the second score in Spurs 2-1 win at Stoke City this past weekend. Did Harry Kane deserve it? You can watch footage of the goal below and judge for yourself.
Having missed significant time recently due to injury, Kane had fallen five goals behind Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah for the Premier League lead in scoring. Getting this goal back, one that Kane loudly and passionately campaigned for, gives him 25, four behind Salah’s 29, with six games to go. Kane and Spurs also have a game in hand on Salah and Liverpool, as the Reds have just five remaining contests.
