Paris Saint-Germain is a team that Eden Hazard and his Chelsea FC teammates know very well. After all, Chelsea and PSG have met in UEFA Champions League the past three seasons prior to this campaign, in which Chelsea did not qualify for Europe.
The Parisians won the first leg of their Champions League tie with Barcelona at home 4-0, but then went on to get destroyed 6-1 at the Cam Nou. Clearly, Paris Saint-Germain had some serious sense of complacency set in, and then massively paid the price for not being sharp.
The Blues are currently at the top of the table, and currently have a sizable lead of 10 points with only 11 matches remaining.
They have the title wrapped up, with still an outside chance of breaking the records for single season points and victories.
Eden Hazard and company are heavy favorites against Manchester United tonight, as the Red Devils are currently seriously injury depleted. (Chelsea starting XI prediction here) and (MUFC starting 11 prediction here)
Hazard said in an interview with the Daily Telegraph:
“You saw what happened in the Camp Nou, Barcelona. I think if we don’t win the title this season it’s something like PSG; the same feeling. Because, you know, you win 4-0 at home and then you think that you can go through.”
“If we don’t win the title this season it will be something of the same feeling because we have the opportunity to win so we have to. But don’t think too early about the title, think game after game.”
