Eden Hazard scored one of the four goals in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal tonight, a match that was as riveting and entertaining as you’ll ever see. The Belgian won a penalty on a challenge from Hector Bellerin, and converted from the spot, but the opposite side accused him of diving. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger called the decision to award a penalty “farcical.”

Hazard maintains that the official made the right call.

“We don’t need a replay, it was a penalty,” he told Sky Sports after the game.

“Petr (Cech) is a great goalkeeper, it is always hard to score against him but I put the ball in the net and that was the most important thing.”

“I think we should won this game because of the chances we had.”

In the closing minutes, Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata blew a golden scoring opportunity that would have given the Blues all three points. Morata had a poor night squandering other opportunities as well. Morata’s last miss was immediately followed by a Davide Zappacosta shot that blasted off the crossbar.

Oh so close for Chelsea, and after the game, Eden Hazard rued the missed chances.

“It was a 50-50 match, both teams played a really good game,” he later added. “Maybe we should have scored more, we missed some chances. The last shot should have been a goal. We are happy though.”
