Eden Hazard has “Frightening” Abilities Says Former Chelsea Captain

Eden Hazard reminded the world last night of all the elite qualities that he possesses as he scored a brace in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion. Sure, the opposition was significantly lower, but the Blues needed a win, especially one in as dominating vein as this. Hazard, the PFA Player of the Year in 2014-15, put on a clinic that was so impressive it inspired headline level praise from former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise.

Wise described the Belgian star as “world class” and “outstanding,” with abilities that are “frightening.”

“His performances for Chelsea since he has come back from injury have been absolutely outstanding,” Wise said to Premier League Daily on Sky Sports News.

“He has been like a one-man band at stages. Especially, last night you see how fantastic he was with his two goals. He creates things that other players can’t create. I think he is world class and it is up to him what he wants to do with himself, whether he wants to take himself to that next level.”

In using the term “that next level,” Wise is probably referring to the idea of Eden Hazard taking his form up to another elite stratosphere, one in which he would frequently draw comparisons to players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and others in that special, rarified air. Hazard certainly has all the tools to be a footballer on par with those icons.

Being a player with such a skill set, it’s only natural that he keeps getting linked over and over and over again in transfer rumors to Real Madrid; despite the fact he keeps giving the same answer (non-answer really) whenever the query is posed to him.

Wise wasn’t done praising Hazard, who has scored 15 goals this season, and directly contributed to nine more.

“Only time will tell I think but some of the things he can do with a football are quite frightening,” Wise said.

Through all the ups and down this season, all the speculation about the manager, all the turnover that’s occurred since the Premier League title season of 2014-15, Eden Hazard, when healthy, has sort of been the Chelsea FC constant. He missed the beginning weeks of the season due to his ankle problem, but once fully fit, he did not miss a beat.

Through this roller coaster of a season, Hazard has been a rather dependable asset for the Blues.
