Lots of people in the global football world are very upset about the foul committed by the Brazilian. The play will likely see the defender, arguably Chelsea’s best player on the pitch today, banned for three matches.
One of the strongest takes on David Luiz came from Sky Sports pundit and Liverpool legend Graeme Souness, who couldn’t understand why Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was so livid with the officials right after the incident occurred. The Luiz-Kolasinac incident occurred right in front of the Italian.
“I’m struggling to understand what the manager’s on about here, Conte,” Souness said of the Chelsea boss.
“He’s out on the touchline waving an imaginary card for who? This is just reckless, the game’s 0-0, he’s frustrated.
“He’s not had a good day, ‘here, have some of that’. That is a leg-breaker.”
“That’s a red card all day,” he continued.
David Luiz is likely to be suspended for Chelsea’s visit to Stoke City, the extremely crucial home match versus Manchester City and their visit to Crystal Palace.
