Michy Batshuayi wasn’t deemed good enough by Chelsea manager Antonio Conte to be even his back-up striker behind Alvaro Morata. In the January transfer window, it was Batshuayi out, going on loan to Borussia Dortmund, and Arsenal man Olivier Giroud in. So how is the “Batsman” doing at BVB?
Well, Dortmund have scored eight goals in the three games since Michy Batshuayi arrived, and he has had a role in all of them. He’s scored five, assisted one, and played the pass before the assist for the other two. Included in those goals were the equalizer and stoppage time winner in a 3-2 UEFA Europa League comeback over Atlalanta on Thursday.

“I’m absolutely delighted about the goals,” said Batshuayi about his rip roaring start in Germany. “But Mario (Gotze) also deserves a lot of credit because he did brilliantly to set me up for both goals.”
Gotze assisted him on both of his goals tonight. Michy’s heroics are obviously turning heads in Dortmund, but also in west London as well. He didn’t get his chances at Stamford Bridge, but he’s making the most of his opportunities, and then some, at BVB right now.
He was asked whether or not he’s been contemplating his future as his transfer market value keeps rising with every goal that he scores.
“I’m not thinking about that at all,” the striker responded.
“For me, it’s important to perform well for Borussia Dortmund in every match anew. I’ll deal with the situation as it comes.”
