Chelsea FC have apparently seen all that they need to see from striker Alvaro Morata. Stamford Bridge is reportedly willing to part with the forward they acquired from Real Madrid just last summer, after he completed an injury-riddled and disappointing first season with the Blues.

Chelsea are interested in replacing the Spaniard with Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi, and according to multiple reports, are willing to part with Morata, if needed, in order to acquire him.

According to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser and also Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Chelsea are pursuing a player and cash deal to obtain Icardi this summer. Icardi was the joint-top goalscorer (Lazio’s Ciro Immobile was the other) in Serie A this past season with 29 goals, but he still failed to make his country’s World Cup squad.

As for Morata, Inter Milan is the second Italian side that he’s been linked with this summer. Before his stint at Real Madrid, Morata had a very successful two year loan spell at Juventus. According to NBC Sports, Morata “was spotted meeting with the Juventus hierarchy earlier this week.”
