Borussia Dortmund winger and face of US Soccer Christian Pulisic has been persistently linked in transfer rumors with some of the biggest English clubs over the past year or two. It appears that a breakthrough has finally been reached, with a more credible outlet publishing a more definitive narrative.
Bild, the paper of record in Germany, are claiming that Chelsea are closing in on a €50m ($57m) summer acquisition of Pulisic, with the BVB youngster having already agreed to personal terms.
Bleacher Report seems to think this deal is on, having produced this nifty graphic, an illustration of football art that has some Chelsea fans on social media excited:
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for Pulisic, but Liverpool has been the club that has possibly gained the most traction in the transfer narratives. A lot can happen between now and the summer, so this deal is still far from done. For what it’s worth, Pulisic grew up a Manchester United supporter.
The Pennsylvanian has seen his place at BVB supplanted by young sensation Jordan Sancho, so maybe the time is right for Pulisic to move on. Also, for Chelsea, they need to look into replacing Willian on the wing, who’s been rather poor in form this season.
