Chelsea star Eden Hazard has certainly been talking about his club future a lot this international break. Two days ago he revealed that Chelsea rejected the offer Real Madrid made to acquire him this summer. Two days prior to that he said that Jose Mourinho is the one manager that he hopes to play for again.
Two days before that he said that he’s not leaving the club in January, but avoided answering a question about the possibility of exiting in the summer time.
Now Chelsea Chairman Bruce Buck has weighed in on the topic, stating that the club will do whatever it takes to the keep the high flying Belgian, who is out of contract in the summer of 2020.
“Every Chelsea fan in London and around the world loves Eden Hazard,” said Buck. “He’s not only a great footballer but I think he’s a wonderful lad. We want him to stay and we’ll do what we have to do to entice him to stay.”
The 27-year-old was absolutely dominant during the World Cup with Belgium, and he’s maintained that elite form in the Premier League this season. Right now he’s performing at a level that places him among the best not just in England, but in the entire world. As long as he stays up in this rarified air, the offers will keep coming and Chelsea will do whatever is needed to fend them off.
