Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp witnessed, first hand, the potential and promise of Christian Pulisic during his final season as manager of Borussia Dortmund. The German obviously liked what he saw in the 19-year-old American international, because he’s kept on tabs on the winger, and reportedly pursued him in past transfer windows.
The Merseyside club are keen on him again this summer, but according to German newspaper Bild, but Dortmund claim to be unaware of such interest.
“I am in constant exchange with Jurgen Klopp, but I am not aware of this,” said BVB Sporting Director Michael Zorc when asked to comment on this transfer rumors narrative. Pulisic is under contract until 2020, and his value in the transfer market is projected to be about 60 million Euro.
Pulisic, who has been deemed “Wonder Boy” by former United States Men’s National Team player and current prominent pundit Alexi Lalas, has four goals in the Bundesliga and five across all competitions this season for BVB.
However, he is seeing major minutes as a regular in the first team, which is something that probably won’t happen at Anfield, given the prolific abilities of Klopp’s current attack. Yesterday saw the LFC front three of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino set become the highest scoring trio in a single Champions League tournament; with one match still left to go.
Plus just a few days ago, we saw Firmino ink a new, long term deal to stay at Anfield.
