Media personality and die-hard Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan typically goes out of his way to stir up trouble and garner attention. What’s he done now though is a new level of trolling, even for him. Morgan gave Donald Trump, 45th President of the United States, an Arsenal #45 shirt with his name on it during their sit-down interview.
The ITV interview itself is news-worthy because it marked the first time Trump gave an interview to a network other than FOX since last May. It occurred during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland where ITV and CNBC were the only non-FOX outlets Trump granted interviews to.
In fact, Trump has done 19 interviews for FOX while President and that’s nearly four times as many as the other major American news networks combined: NBC/MSNBC (3), ABC (1), CBS (1), CNN (0).
Obviously, Trump only prefers to do interviews with networks that he believes will be more favorable to him. Morgan happily obliged by engaging in fawning behavior:
*WORLD EXCLUSIVE*
The moment I invite President Trump to be Arsenal's new manager – because he'd build a strong defensive wall, have an attacking philosophy & want to win big trophies at all costs.
See his hilarious response on Sunday night, ITV, 10pm. #TrumpMorgan pic.twitter.com/pVZdFD6N0J— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 26, 2018
Piers Morgan got exactly what we wanted- ATTENTION! Even if it’s attention from people despising him. In fact, maybe Morgan prefers that type of attention. Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin brilliantly slammed both him and Trump with this pithy Tweet.
Hope he said no ? https://t.co/EDRyiap4ni

arsenal fans did not co-sign this https://t.co/r5uwIKSzGp

Not sure about that but Wenger would definitely make a far better US president

More likely that he would kick out all Arsenal’s foreign players, divide the rest of the team and make himself centre forward. https://t.co/6JxELxeGKW
