Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola has had it up to here with all the bashing of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman’s future at the club is still in doubt, and while he may be able to still determine his own destiny, the backlash against him is very strong. #WengerOut has been a popular hash tag for some time, and the media are piling on too.
There always seems to be another pundit calling for Wenger’s dismissal seemingly every other week.
Pep Guardiola has had enough.
“What I’ve heard in the last 10 days about how the people — former players and journalists — treated for example Arsene Wenger is unacceptable,” Guardiola told his post FA Cup match news conference.
“For me, our job at the moment, we don’t have any respect for any position. What happened was unacceptable. We take decisions and you can say whatever you want.”
In the fall of 2014, Pep Guardiola was heavily rumored in the backpage tabloids to be a potential replacement for Wenger.
