Wow! Is this the headline that Arsenal FC supporters definitely DO NOT want to see. Arsenal Football Club fans might have to deal with Arsene Wenger, the manager that they cannot stand, for perhaps another half-decade.
It’s why we say Wenger, has a doppel-ganger soul mate of sorts in America- University of Iowa college football head coach Kirk Ferentz.
Both the Hawkeyes head man and the Gunners boss seem to be COACH FOR LIFE right now.
If and when they leave, it’ll be on their own terms. With Arsene Wenger, the hope for Arsenal fans lies in the England National team job. As many have pointed out, the Three Lions franchise is an absolute joke right now, on the heels of Sam Allardyce being ousted over his exposure in an undercover sting.
Wenger’s comments today leave the door open to assuming that position…or staying at the Emirates another five years.
When asked if there could be a 25th anniversary at Arsenal in five years, he told a news conference: “I rule nothing out because I want to work. And I want to do well.”
“But I accept as well that it can finish tomorrow. It’s a love story and a love story you expect always to last forever. But it can stop any day.”
In reference to the England job Arsene Wenger said: “The priority is to do well here, this has always been my club, but one day, if I am free, why not?”
