It appears the third Liverpool FC signing of the 2017 summer transfer window is imminent. It’s almost certainly going to be Hull City left back Andrew Robertson, who is reportedly set to undergo his LFC medical tomorrow. His addition should provide LFC Manager Jurgen Klopp with an upgrade over 31-year-old James Milner or Alberto Moreno (if he stays this summer) in selection.
According to Sky Sports: “The Scotland left-back flew back from the Tigers’ pre-season tour in Portugal earlier this week after a £10m fee between the clubs had been agreed.”
The report from Sky goes on to mention that Liverpool beat out along PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon and other clubs in the race to acquire his services.
So while this is no “blockbuster signing” or “splash hire,” it is activity. Robertson, should he pass the medical and agree to personal terms would join Dominic Solake and Mohamed Salah as Reds additions this transfer window.
Liverpool have previously been linked to Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam in their search for a better left back.
