Center-forward Alvaro Morata has certainly been dropping a lot of hints lately that he’s moving on from Real Madrid and joining Manchester United. It certainly appears that way if you read the tea leaves of his social media accounts. Morata removed the phrase “Real Madrid player” from his biography on both his official verified Instagram and Twitter accounts.
He also “liked” a post plugging a report claiming he was recruiting Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez on the prospect of leaving Real and coming with him to United.
However, this is one transfer that’s got a ways to go yet before it’s completed; if it is even to be completed.
The agent of Alvaro Morata, Juanma Lopez, confirmed that United have offered his client. In an interview with calciomercato.com, he also said the ball is currently in the court of Real.
“They are a club with great glamour, a very interesting option,” Lopez said. “I can say that their proposal is a very, very important one and now the decision rests with Real.”
When pressed about a deal being completed, Lopez pumped the breaks a bit, saying: “I cannot say — we will see.”
