Louisville Cheerleaders, Dance Team Afraid of West Virginia Fans

Big East football has given us very little to discuss this year on-the-field. The #22 Cincinnati Bearcats are the only conference team ranked in both polls, and the whole thing is one big glob of mediocrity.

Off-the-field is a different story. There’s been a ton of media coverage of teams leaving the league, and the Big East scrambling for replacements. The University of Louisville (4-4, 2-1) has decided not to bring their cheerleaders, dance team or mascot to Morgantown, WV for Saturday’s game at the home of the #24 in AP Poll West Virginia Mountaineers (6-2, 2-1). Why? UL has genuine safety concerns about the West Virginia fans.

They are scary. And once again BE football is making news for something other than the game itself.

So far, it’s the only road game that the Louisville Cardinals squads are staying home for this season.
UL fans, we know you’re ready for college football season to end, and college basketball season to begin. You’re a hoops school, we know- so here’s our Cards season preview.

Back to football, here’s more on this situation from Sorry Bro Sports:

“With West Virginia heading to the Big 12 (lawsuit says no, but come on) next season, Louisville looks like they are trying to make Morgantown look awful on their way out of the rivalry conference game. Even though Louisville doesn’t need to try this hard to do so. This just appears to be more of a mind game off the field to help their team win on the field.”
