Sometimes, in order to get a great deal, you must get in on the ground floor. The early bird gets the worm, we’ve been told since we were children. Lane Kiffin, now head coach at Florida Atlantic, has offered a scholarship to a kid who just finished sixth grade this spring, and enters seventh grade this fall.
Here’s more from FOX Sports Bruce Feldman:
#FAU & Lane Kiffin offered a scholarship to QB guru Steve Clarkson's son, Pierce a Class of 2023 QB, who just finished 6th grade, per source

Lane Kiffin has done this before. He’s also extended a scholy offer to Tee Martin’s son, Kaden, per Feldman.
Kiffin is connected to both kids’ fathers, from his USC days. Tee Martin is now USC’s offensive coordinator and served as the receivers coach in 2012-13 when Lane Kiffin was head coach. In the past decade, Kiffin has had five different jobs- head coach of Oakland, USC, Tennessee and FAU, as well as Alabama Offensive Coordinator.
In other words, he’s been very peripatetic, and that might not be very conducive to extremist long term recruiting.
With players this far out from committing to the program, Lane Kiffin won’t likely still be there once those kids arrive on campus.
