Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is many things: winner of the Heisman trophy, leader of the reigning national champions and former center of a sexual assault investigation. (And that’s before his petty larceny of crab legs) Yes, the same Jameis Winston who made waves last summer when he said he didn’t suffer from “Manziel Disease,” has dealt with his own off-the-field incidents and legal problems, a la Manziel. So winning the Heisman isn’t be the only thing Winston and Johnny Manziel have in common.
On November 13th, a police report concerning an alleged sexual battery incident from December 7, 2012, came to be public knowledge. Since then there’s been extensive coverage of Jameis and possible “character issues.” Obviously, the investigation did not proceed and his Heisman campaign was not hurt at all. Jameis Winston took to the podium at ACC Media Day where he said that he’s taking accountability for his actions, embraces and accountability and has learned from his mistakes.
