Georgia Bulldogs record-setting senior quarterback Aaron Murray underwent surgery in Athens last month to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) suffered in the 59-17 victory over Kentucky. For much of this year, Aaron Murray was the left man standing, the only healthy skill position guy on an offense decimated by injuries. It was a very rough ending to the decorated college football career of Murray.
But he’s expected to make a full recovery. And we have some lighter news to report here. Aaron Murray was swimming among whale sharks and manta rays at Georgia Aquarium. Alongside Murray in the football-size Ocean Voyager exhibit was his girlfriend Kacie McDonnell. The two enjoyed the Journey with the Gentle Giants program while visiting Atlanta for the weekend.
Next Aaron Murray will rehab to be 100% in time for the NFL Draft combine. Not just be healthy, but at his best because he has a lot to prove to NFL scouts. The fact that Aaron Murray returned for his fourth season is telling enough that he didn’t have enough pro potential to leave early. And like Alabama’s A.J. McCarron, will be held down by not being tall enough. But, Aaron Murray can point to all his UGA and SEC passing records as proof that he can get it done.
