Syracuse basketball is back in the Final Four. Here are some videos we shot from ground zero of the celebration at Chicago’s United Center. The Orange, back in the Final Four for the first time since 2013, when they reached the final weekend as a #6 seed, become the first #10 seed to ever reach the final.
The Orange overcame a 16 point second half deficit to #1 seed Virginia in what was truly an amazing comeback.
Having beat the Cavaliers in an all ACC Regional Final, they’ll now face the North Carolina Tar Heels in an all ACC national semi-final. The ACC continues to be in basketball what the SEC is in football. We have a lot more photos at this link. Here are the videos of the on court celebration for Syracuse basketball below. An afterthought bubble team with 13 losses on the season, the Cuse were a long shot to make it this far.
They got into the tourney largely on the basis of their brand name, tradition and history. They’ve stayed in this far by finding the strength and effort to overcome the favored team a few times.
