Aimee Teegarden was quite the rebel against her parents coach Erik Taylor and Tami Taylor in Friday Night Lights. During his MSU career, it looked like Delvon Roe was sometimes going against what coach Tom Izzo had to say on the Spartans bench. If you followed Michigan State Spartans basketball in recent years, you might have noticed a certain Shakespearean acting clip playing over and over during MSU telecasts. Whenever Delvon Roe was mentioned, ESPN/BTN/whoever cut away to a shot of him acting in the bard’s play “As You Like it” at MSU. In that production, Roe played Charles the Wrestler. In a movie with Aimee Teegarden, he played a former football player named Issac. Maybe Roe and Aimee Teegarden worked well in the IF.
Roe got paid $20,000 for the gig, as he beat out the big Mike actor (Quinton Aaron) from the academy award winning “The Blind Side,” the only other person to audition for the role.
Before his knee injuries began during his senior year in high school, Roe was considered a lock to become McDonald’s All-American. There were thoughts of him becoming a one-and-done; doing his college basketball at either State or UNC, as he was a top 5 national recruit.
Well, the knee problems have only gotten worse and as Roe retired his senior year in East Lansing, realizing he may have more of a future in Hollywood than in “the league.”
You guys obviously know Aimee Teegarden as Julie Taylor in “Friday Night Lights.” Her resume is filling up at IMDB. Aimee Teegarden has been busy. She has two movies in pre-production.
Delvon Roe’s acting career is starting to get more momentum. He’s acquiring a showbiz agent, and he’s been offered two more roles including get this- a basketball movie about a potential NBA player who hurts his knee in college. Won’t be much of a stretch for him. Here’s his IMDB profile. Oh and time for one more picture of Aimee Teegarden. Make that two pics of Aimee Teegarden.
