The #1 ranked power forward and #2 overall recruit in the nation (according to ESPNU) Mitch McGary announced his college choice on ESPNU last night. He picked the Michigan Wolverines, over the Duke Blue Devils or Florida Gators.
What a huge get for John Beilen and his college basketball program! Maybe Michigan won’t be just a “college football school” any more.
Nicknamed “White Thunder” he’s bound to drawn comparisons to a similar player with a similar nickname “Thunder Dan Majerle.” This is the Wolverines highest rated recruit since 1999 when they signed Gatorade Player of the Year Lavell Blanchard.
Mitch is a 6-foot-10 senior forward at Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.)
