With Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson III coming back, just how good will the Wolverines be next year? Sure, they lost Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke to the NBA Draft. And that’s huge. But look how much they have coming back.
The #1 ranked power forward and #2 overall recruit in the nation (according to ESPNU) Mitch McGary picked the Michigan Wolverines, over the Duke Blue Devils or Florida Gators. Now he’s picking Ann Arbor over the NBA Draft. Maybe Michigan won’t be just a “college football school” any more?
Nicknamed “White Thunder,” Mitch McGary is bound to draw comparisons to a similar player with a similar nickname “Thunder Dan Majerle.” He’s the Wolverines highest rated recruit since 1999 when they signed Gatorade Player of the Year Lavell Blanchard.
Mitch McGary might have a first round pick. Glenn Robinson III definitely would have been. In addition to McGary and GR3, Michigan returns Nik Stauskas, veteran big man Jordan Morgan and point guard Spike Albrecht. Who’s now best known for his Twitter overture to supermodel and Wolverines fan Kate Upton.
So yeah, Michigan will be uhm pretty good again next year.
