The Cleveland Cavaliers have changed their previous stance and are now willing to trade Andrew Wiggins, the #1 pick in this June’s NBA Draft for disgruntled and unsettled Minnesota Timberwolves Forward Kevin Love.
This is according to Bob Finnan of The Morning Journal & The News-Herald and USA Today’s Jeff Zillgitt.
Ever since Lebron James decided not to return to the Miami Heat, and instead come home to Cleveland Cavaliers, we’ve heard Love’s name linked to Cavs. Supposedly, there was no way it was going to happen at first, but now as more and more free agent dominoes fall and different pieces get settled into place, Dan Gilbert and the Cavs get more into “win now” mode.
Lebron’s championship window isn’t going to be open forever, so why not, right? Love is obviously going to be playing anywhere but Minnesota next year.
On a side note, Minnesota are obviously not trading with the idea of prioritizing media skills; since Andrew Wiggins doesn’t have any. Seriously, a Wiggins interview is almost always as painful if not more so than any time Cody Zeller or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist gets behind a microphone.
