Aaron Rodgers and NFC North-leading Green Bay Packers host the rival Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. The Green Bay Packers (5-2) versus the 4-3 Bears will kick on Nov. 4 at 7:25 p.m. Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden will call the game from historic Lambeau Field with sideline reporter Lisa Salters.
Bears-Packers on MNF is the only NFL game in week 9 between teams with winning records. In addition, Monday night marks the 185th regular season game between the Bears and Green Bay Packers, the most games ever between two NFL franchises. The longtime rivals are playing on MNF for the 11th time. Remember the Halloween rain storm train wreck in the 1990s? How about the William “Refrigerator” Perry game in 1985.
The series is split with five wins apiece, while the Bears have won the last two meetings by the score of 20-17 (2010 and ‘08).
Leading into Bears versus Green Bay Packers, Suzy Kolber hosts ESPN’s pre-game show Monday Night Countdown (5:30 p.m., ESPN) from Green Bay with analysts Trent Dilfer, Ray Lewis and Steve Young, contributor Rick Reilly (Good God turn him off, no talent hack) and Tirico, Gruden (“everybody’s awesome,” “everybody rules”) and Salters.
Studio host Chris Berman (won’t make fun of him, too easy), analysts Cris Carter (what a nice, great, sweet guy!), Mike Ditka (enough with the Halloween costume already! put it to bed), Tom Jackson and Keyshawn Johnson and insiders Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter contribute to the show from the network’s headquarters in Bristol, Conn.
