With celebrity cred like the doctor, and the leader of the free world Barack Obama, the White Sox win the Chicago sports fashion contest. They helped outfit the music of the counter-culture, and their stable of celebrity fans blows every other Chicago team away.
It’s doesn’t get cooler than silver and black wearing ’90s hip-hop, r&b artists. Just about every single one sported a White Sox hat.
Of course, if the Sox are 1A then the Cubs are 1B, and since we placed both baseball teams up at the top, I think it says a lot about Chicago and its life long love affair with baseball. The teams have almost always been historically bad yet the fandom is loyal and persistent. Maybe it’s the clothing?
One thing I do know is that nothing gives White Sox fans a bigger boner than beating the Cubs in anything, so I’m sure they’re going to dig this.
