Quite often, I find myself questioning the validity of the draws for the Europa League, FA Cup, EFL Cup etc. Can they really be on the up and up? Quite often, it seems like the match-ups are just too perfect; too good for the people in charge. They have to be fixed; when the powers that be get exactly what they want.
Liverpool FC drawing Manchester United and then Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League last season are two great examples.
Chelsea FC getting West Ham United today for a London Derby in the fourth round of the EFL Cup is another suspicious result.
I guess they really wanted Chelsea versus Arsenal, but that would have been too obvious. They realize that they have to give us some credit at least.
Here’s the full list of fourth round draws
West Ham United v Chelsea FC
Manchester United v Manchester City
Arsenal v Reading
Liverpool FC v Tottenham
Bristol City v Hull
Leeds United v Norwich City
Newcastle United v Preston NE
Southampton v Sunderland
