Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho takes a lot of criticism for his “parking the bus” tactics. This practice became especially extreme down the stretch of the 2014-15 Premier League season. As Chelsea took off and built a wide separation at the top of the table from the rest of the league, the “bus” tactics ensued.
Chelsea had already wrapped up the title and there was nothing left to play for, and fans of the opposition mocked them with chants of “boring boring Chelsea.”
Mourinho attended the GQ Men of the Year Awards on Tuesday night, in which he received the Editor’s Special Award. Ferrell was there to accept the Comedian of the Year prize. The Hollywood A-Lister is a big Blues supporter who’s met Chelsea players and visited Stamford Bridge a few times.
“Keep playing defense, man,” Ferrell said in his ‘advice’ to Mourinho. “Keep playing seven guys in the box. I love it.”
