While Northwestern football is unranked in both polls, they are actually ranked in the one poll that actually does matter- the college football playoff rankings. The first CFBPlayoff rankings of the season were released last night and Northwestern checks in at #21. Only four Big Ten teams made the cut and NU was one of them.
This prompted a malcontent reaction from Joey Galloway, who declared this Northwestern football team, the most overrated one within the rankings.
“Northwestern at No. 21. The Wildcats should not be ahead of No. 22 Temple,” said Galloway when asked who the most overrated team in the college football playoff rankings are.
Never mind the fact that NU dominated the team ranked #11 (Stanford) in the season opener, and that Temple has beaten nobody except for Penn State. So yeah, the Temple is better than NU argument is silly. Another ESPN pundit, David Pollack, also had a Big Ten team as his most overrated in the rankings.
