Northwestern football no longer has a relationship with 4-star WR recruit Dareian Watkins. The Ohio product de-committed this morning says one outlet. Another outlet claims he had his scholarship pulled. Another outlet is claiming he had his scholarship pulled because he got suspended for two weeks. The overall consensus seems to be he visited Wisconsin, and doing so was frowned upon in this establishment.
Northwestern football Rivals site Wildcat Report claims that they broke the story first, but in order to read it, you need to have a login. And that costs money. I only have a login for Scout, the recruiting site which is the Fox Sports equivalent of Yahoo’s owned Rivals.
And I didn’t pay for it, I only have it because I have a FOX ATTITUDE that fits the mold of FOX SPORTS.
Seriously, this generation does not pay for news, sports news or Northwestern football news. Kids today don’t even want to do anything free on the net that costs them nothing in order to acquire news. However, if it’s working for my good friend Louie Vaccher, if the pay for Northwestern football news system works, then kudos to him and Wildcat Report.
Back to Dareien Watkins. He has been looking around for weeks, very interested in Wisconsin, who now supposedly leads in the recruiting of him.
24/7 sports had a link on this story but now it’s down.
In other Northwestern football news, Malin Jones was suspended indefinitely. The reason has not been leaked yet, but they claim he will likely be back in the spring, Jones was another four-star recruit, a tailback who choose Northwestern football over Notre Dame and Iowa. However, he fell out of favor at the running back position (ironically, it’s the very position which has been decimated by injury the most, so the opportunities were hypothetically there). instead he got converted to SUPERBACK, where again he wasn’t contributing much.
