Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction vs Southampton FC


On Saturday, Eden Hazard came off the bench in the 61? to propel the Blues past London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-finals.

After the match, Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte said that the plan all along was to have Eden Hazard come off the bench. Hazard’s Chelsea teammate Cesc Fabregas said over the weekend that only Messi is better than the 2014-15 PFA Player of the Year “ability wise.” Fabregas then added his view that Eden Hazard could reach Messi’s level if he were only to have more “killer instinct.” (more on that here)

Manchester United Starting XI Prediction vs Southampton (EFL Cup)


Manchester United have been beaten just once in their last 25 overall across all competitions. It’s a feat unmatched since the Sir Alex Ferguson era. However, they’re still in sixth place in the league, a spot they have occupied since late October. Nevertheless, United have a chance for a so-called “plastic treble,” and winning in the EFL Cup on Sunday accomplishes the first component of that triad.

United have also reached the quarterfinals of the FA Cup and the last 16 of the Europa League.

Former Southampton FC Specialist Gets New High Level Gig


When James Bunce was Head of Athletic Development at Southampton FC, he led one of the world’s most successful player development clubs. During his eight years at the south coast club he helped develop many world-class Premier League and international stars.

From there, Bunce went on to serve as Head of Performance for the Premier League. Today, brings announcement of a new promotion for James Bunce. US Soccer sent out a release Monday indicating the hiring of James Bunce as High Performance Director.

Southampton FC Add Two on January Transfer Deadline Day


If transfer windows were an automobile, then the summer period would be the engine, chassis, body, interior, dashboard, trunk….well you get the idea. The January transfer window would be a hood ornament.

As a reporter pointed out to Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho today, none of the “big six” or “top six” teams added a single player this January transfer window, in order to strengthen their run at the league title or top four.

Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction vs Southampton (EFL Cup)

After a loss to Swansea City in PL action on Saturday, Liverpool will host Southampton in the second league of the EFL Cup semi-final. Southampton took the first leg 1-0, putting the pressure on the Reds for leg two.

Loris Karius has been Liverpool’s Cup keeper since December, and that shouldn’t change on Wednesday.

Steven Gerrard Says Liverpool FC Should Get Saints Virgil Van Dijk


Entering the holidays, Liverpool FC was looking really good, sitting in second place and bonafide title contenders. Now the Reds have been in a tailspin since the festive period, and the fixture congestion within it, ensued. Liverpool fell to relegation fodder Swansea City over the weekend, and something needs to be done to stop the bleeding.

If they’re looking to beef up the back line, then perhaps Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk, 25, could be a part of the solution.
