Hayden Panettiere gratuitous photo gallery

hayden-panetierre_cup

Hayden Panettiere is trending right now. Why? I don’t know I think it’s because of her cleavage. Or some other non-story pretending to be a media story. Who cares? Hayden’s played a cheerleader in movies, and she’s taken some nice pics with the Stanley Cup. And this is NHL postseason time, although no one here actually cares now that the Blackhawks are eliminated.

Anyways, this is a sports story, real shoe leather reporting here.

Overdue parody of HORRIBLE Zooey Deschanel iPhone commercial (video)

zooey-deschanel

Who greenlighted that GOD AWFUL  iPhone commercial with Zooey Deschanel? I didn’t know it possible to make such an attractive woman seem so loserish, annoying and utterly moronic in just 30 seconds.

Who on Earth could tolerate that incarnation of Deschanel (“Is that rain?” No you moron, a bunch of people decided to dump buckets of water outside your house, and just your house.) Fortunately, Funny or Die has their own parody of one of the worst commercials ever made.

ESPN’s Rachel Nichols: On the Job Picture Collection & Biography

Sports fans and media consumers everywhere used to joke that every time Brett Favre moved, sneezed, went to the bathroom or even breathed- ESPN’s Rachel Nichols was there. I’m speaking of course about Favre’s three year period in which he retired/unretired 1,298 times and held the media and fan bases of the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets hostage.

Now the Nichols joke applies to the soon to be NBA champion Miami Heat. I guess her hair matches the team colors.

BTW, isn’t that screen grab above just priceless (photo credit here)

Ali Krieger: USA Soccer’s next heartthrob? (photos)

ali-krieger

Lost in the shuffle of Alex Morgan and Hope Solo, and if you know what they look like, and some of the things they wear, you’ll understand why. To see that stuff go here, and vote in our poll!

But don’t forget Ali Kreger, a stunning brunette with extremely beautiful jet black hair.

Ali Krieger began her career at Penn State University with the university’s Penn State Nittany Lions women’s soccer team. With the Nittany Lions, she was a two-time All-American, a first team NSCAA All-American, co-defensive player of the year, team captain, Big-Ten Freshman of the year and a semifinalist for the M.A.C. Hermann trophy.

While at Penn State her team won four consecutive Big-Ten championships.

So is Erin Andrews leaving ESPN or not?

Now that Michelle Beadle is leaving ESPN, and Charissa Thompson is replacing her as the host of “SportsNation,” the question is…who replaces Charissa at “Numbers Don’t Lie?” I’m sure both the people who watch that show are very interested to find out.

No seriously, the real question is what will become of Erin Andrews? Her star power isn’t what it once was, so is she gonna stay at ESPN when her contract expires? Check out this tweet exchange between EA and Hot Clicks proprietor Jimmy Traina from a couple hours ago:

Chicago ABC affiliate labels Metta World Peace “Lakers Idiot”

metta-world peace

Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace (the NBA player formerly known as Ron Artest) is a polarizing figure. He’s a great interview, but comes off weird, sometimes idiotic to many. Whoever designed this screen designation for the local ABC Chicago affiliate is likely one of those fans who dislike him.

I actually think MWP is a smart guy, but I still find this screen grab hilarious.

Model Leeann Tweeden is a television and internet media favorite. Charissa Thompson replacing Michelle Beadle on ESPN SportsNation?

charissa-thompson

It looks like the boys in Bristol have their new A1 female star in the works, the new Erin Andrews if you will. Charissa Thompson formerly of Big Ten Network, Versus and Fox Sports NFL broadcasts left all that behind to sign a deal with ESPN almost a year ago. Now she’s about to become one of the faces of the network, as Michelle Beadle departs

WFAN’s Mike Francesa anti-Twitter rant: epitome of ignorance (video)

mike-francesa

After his angry old man “hey get off my media industry lawn” type rant against Twitter yesterday, WFAN’s Mike Francesa is deemed out of touch, behind the times by most people today. I’d say he’s 16 days AHEAD of his time. Doesn’t he know June, not May is “old line sports media vs. new sports media steel cage death match month?”

In June ’08 came the infamous Buzz Bissinger curmudgeonis extremis rant against Deadspin founder Will Leitch on HBO. June ’09 brought Raul Ibanez and a Philadelphia Inquirer columnist ganging up on Midwest Sports Fans Jerod Morris on ESPN “Outside the Lines.” June 2010 switched things up a bit as sports blogs became big enough to have civil war at Blogs with Balls 3, held at Wrigley Field’s Capt. Morgan Club. That conflict had With Leather and The Big Lead on one side versus everyone who cares about getting sued on the other. (video not available, you had to be there)

June 2011 was an era of good feeling and peace. So in 2012, what blogger/tweeter takes on Francesa? I have some choice words for him, as does Awful Announcing:
