Michelle Beadle returns to ESPN SportsNation today

Michelle Beadle returns to ESPN SportsNation today. She’s back with the World Wide Leader after a brief with stint with NBC. Beadle’s show “The Crossover” got very low ratings on NBC Sports Network, which itself gets very low ratings. NBCSN cancelled The Crossover after just one year.

Michelle Beadle did some non-sports part time hosting work on Access Hollywood, but the kibosh of The Crossover reminds us know that the whole “sports and pop culture mix” doesn’t actually work on television. None of these types of shows worked on ESPN, and they’ll probably never work in the future.

Fulham supporter hottie: FS1′s Georgie Thompson

Georgie Thompson has been referred to as “the Erin Andrews for the English Premier League set.”

I could see that. Here in the States we’re just now learning who Georgie Thompson is. Too bad she’s on a show that registers 0.1 ratings. It’s a show absolutely no one watches but anyways Thompson is a big time Fulham supporter.

NFL asked Blake Bortles about girlfriend Lindsey Duke at Combine

Lindsey Duke is more famous than her boyfriend, former UCF QB Blake Bortles. This despite the fact that Bortles is being projected as a top 5 NFL Draft pick, and quite possibly the #1 overall pick to the Houston Texans. Due to her “physical features,” bikini picture heavy Instagram account and the general creepiness of the internet, Lindsey Duke is overshadowing her Fiesta Bowl winning quarterback boyfriend.

In fact, the Fiesta Bowl pregame show even did a feature on this.  And it came up again at the NFL Scouting Combine this past weekend.

NFL Cheerleaders to run the 40-yd dash at the combine: video

Select NFL cheerleaders will run the 40-yard-dash at this year’s NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis. Yes, this is an extension of NFL Network personality Rich Eisen’s tradition of running the 40 in his suit and tie. This promotion is about “running the 40 in your work clothes.” And NFL cheerleaders from numerous teams will be participating/have participated. The video after the jump gives you all the information.

Erin Andrews replaces Brooke Burke on DWTS

After Erin Andrews completed her third place finish on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” I posed the question where will she land next? And on June 15th, 2010 I wrote right here in this spot “Erin Andrews should replace Brooke Burke as host of DWTS.” It looks like ABC/Disney is listening to me because today that exact move was announced.

Chicago Bulls, DePaul icon Shanon Lersch on being in SI Swimsuit issue

Shanon Lersch is one of the most iconic women in Chicago sports. The current model who also serves as DePaul Spirit Director was captain of the Chicago Bulls “Luvabulls” dance team for seven years. In 2009, leading the Luvabulls landed her a spot on the cover of the world famous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

With the 50th anniversary issue hitting newsstands (do people still go to newsstands? Do newsstands still exist?) Tuesday, I asked Shanon, Miss Illinois USA 2008, about being in SI.

Will Emily Ratajkowski be the SI Swimsuit cover girl?

The song of last summer, “Blurred Lines,” introduced the world to Emily Ratajkowski. The over-played mega-hit, a direct rip off, of Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give it Up,” which wasn’t even that great of a song in the first place, made Emily Ratajkowski an international superstar. Her appearance in that music video led to 250,000,000 views on YouTube.
