On Sunday, June 30, 2013, Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will be honored with the BET Awards ‘13 Humanitarian Award. Hosted by Chris Tucker, the show will also include performances by woman batterer Chris Brown and urination fetishist R. Kelly and many more.
Dwyane Wade, affectionately known as D. Wade hails from Richards High School in Oak Lawn, IL, Robbins, IL and Marquette University. Currently facing the Indiana Pacers in game seven of 2013 NBA Eastern Conference Finals, Dwyane Wade is a role model for basketball fans everywhere. He founded the Wade’s World Foundation in 2003, which provides educational support in the focus area of literacy, health, and mentor/fatherhood initiatives to youth in communities primarily in Chicago, Milwaukee, and the South Florida region.
The NBA Draft Combine hit Chicago this week. Everyone who’s likely going to get picked in the NBA Draft comes to the Second City for workouts with NBA scouts and interviews with the media.
Here’s the list of all the former college basketball players who were invited to the NBA Draft combine. And here’s our latest 2013 NBA Mock Draft.
The NBA Draft combine is pretty much a beauty pageant for boys.
The 2013 NBA Draft is scheduled to be held on June 27, 2013 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The NBA Draft Combine hits Chicago next week. It’s the most…..wonderful…..time……of the year!!!!!!! Ok, not really. But it’s still a pretty cool event. Most likely everyone who’s going to get picked in the NBA Draft comes to the Second City for workouts with NBA scouts and interviews with the media.
The invite list did not include the Gophers’ Rodney Williams (that’s fine, he really shouldn’t be picked anyway), Florida State’s Michael Snaer (surprising, I mean someone in the NBA has to play defense at some point), Alex Oriakhi (take it or leave it), Marquette’s Vander Blue (we’re very surprised) and Elias Harris of Gonzaga.
Like the late Nate Dogg said: “I don’t want to dream about getting paid,” and pretty soon these gentlemen won’t have to.
It’s never too early to start thinking ahead. Here is an a very early projection of the 2014 NCAA Tournament Bracketology.

Former Marquette and Hinsdale Central star Brian Wardle is currently the coach at University Wisconsin-Green Bay. There are allegations that he mistreated his college basketball players. No one’s calling him Mike Rice from Rutgers yet; but there are both Brian Wardle supporters and accusers out there.

So here is my preliminary preseason Top 25 college basketball rankings for next season. I have updated these rankings since the NBA Draft early entries list is complete and a number of transfers have since been announced. There is still one major x-factor out there, the undecided Andrew Wiggins who is the #1 prospect in the 2013 class. Leave a comment below if you think a team is too high, too low, not getting enough respect, or if you notice an error in a projected roster. The 2014 NBA Draft class is shaping up to be way more loaded than the 2013 group. Here is an insanely early 2014 NBA Mock Draft where team needs and outstanding trades have NOT yet been taken into account. Click here for The Sports Bank’s 2013 NBA Mock Draft.
Coming off a breakout junior campaign for the Marquette Golden Eagles, shooting guard Vander Blue has decided to leave school a year early and enter the 2013 NBA Draft. Blue is by no means a lock to be a first round pick which makes the decision somewhat surprising. Allow me to break down why the decision both makes sense but could be one that Blue will regret.
