Jimmy Butler Dictates Bulls Fortunes; Rajon Rondo Called It

jimmy butler

As Jimmy Butler goes, so do the Chicago Bulls, and Rajon Rondo called it back in July. While making his famous, or now perhaps infamous, “three alphas” comment Rondo followed up by saying “it’s Jimmy’s team.”

Rondo has accomplished a lot, and Dwyane Wade has accomplished more than the rest of the Bulls roster combined, but Butler is the true alpha dog of this team. Jimmy Butler scored 28 points in 39 minutes today to lead Chicago over the very lowly New Orleans Pelicans, as the team became revitalized.

College Basketball Shouldn’t Begin Until January

ncaa-tournament-march-madness

In negotiation, it’s called the “door in the face” technique.

Your initial pitch is far out, because you’re content to settle later somewhere in the middle with the opposition. Thus we make our pitch that college basketball should not commence until after the New Year.

Maybe that’s seems preposterous to you? Ok, how about we just shorten the season some and commence the campaign a bit later?

Approach this idea with an open mind.

Bulls GM Gar Forman Shoots Down Jimmy Butler Trade Rumors

jimmy butler

NBA Draft night saw incessant Jimmy Butler trade rumors, including some narratives that would potentially reunite the superstar swingman with his former coach Tom Thibodeau in Minnesota. Obviously, it didn’t happen as Butler stayed put, but the Chicago Bulls also took a natural shooting guard, how can also play small forward and point guard with their lottery pick at #14.

Yes, the selection of Denzel Valentine (here’s more on him), plus the Bulls selecting a small forward in the second round in Paul Zipster from Germany, again called into question the team’s future on the wings, as well as wonderment about the future of Jimmy Butler with the team.

henry-ellenson

The 2016 NBA Draft is stating to take shape, at least on paper- LSU’s Ben Simmons #1 to the Philadelphia 76ers, Duke’s Brandon Ingram #2 to the L.A. Lakers, and International prospect Dragan Bender, possibly the next Kristaps Porzingis, #3 to the Boston Celtics.

How about Marquette Power Forward Henry Ellenson? Where does he fit?

Wojo has Marquette future looking incredibly bright

steve wojciechowski

The 2014-15 season is going to be a struggle for the Marquette Golden Eagles and first year head coach, Steve Wojciechowski. Likely even more of a struggle than a year ago when MU missed out on the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005.

It appears as if next season will only be a bump in the road though as Wojo and his staff have hit the recruiting trail hard, already landing three top 100 commitments for the 2015 class including 6’5 wing Haanif Cheatham who last week chose Marquette over Georgetown and California. [Read more…]
