Cheerio Pip pip! What a right good post we have upcoming. It’s quite rare we devote an entire offering to the entry of another digital outlet, but this is a rare aesthetic achievement we’re referring to. All 32 NFL logos translated from American English to British English. The NFL logos are graphically converted as well.
Hugh Thornton has gone through a lot of adversity to get to the NFL. And I mean genuine adversity; not the cliched “adversity” you hear from college football players and in “coachspeak.”
During his childhood, Hugh Thornton saw his parents get divorced, his mother and sister murdered while visiting them in Jamaica and he had to move in with his aunt after being abused by his father while living with him in Idaho. He made this move his senior year of high school across the country to Ohio.
I don’t mean to sound all Les Miserables, as last night was actually a joyous event.
Former Illinois OL Hugh Thornton was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the 3rd round (86th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. He’ll be reunited with Coach Gilbert on the Colts and join former Illini CB Vontae Davis in Indy. (You might have read about Vontae Davis recent Twitter flap a couple months ago.)
Our 2013 NFL mock draft is updated for the final time. Lots of changes. And we are a Chicago based website, so check out our latest analysis of the Bears draft prospects for all 7 rounds. And our Bears “Hindsight Draft.” By the way, Hollywood is filming a movie about the NFL Draft at this year’s draft in New York City. I guess they understand how much us sports bloggers obsess with this topic during the month of April.
Here’s our 2014 NFL mock draft
Happy NFL mock draft day!
This 2013 NFL mock draft is a reader submission from an author who wishes to remain anonymous. This is not my 2013 NFL mock draft, but this is a very comprehensive NFL mock draft as it covers all seven rounds. As always we encourage debate, and reader comments are very much welcome. Especially if you have a NFL mock draft of your own and would like to compare it up against this NFL mock draft.
Like I say on my own, detailed first round NFL mock draft. You’re free to say “this sucks because x, y, z,” but if your comment is simply “this sucks.”
Then I have to say “hey, thanks for coming!”
And check out our NFL mock draft of all 7 rounds for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 2013 NFL Draft is less than a week away. Expect Twitter to be overloaded Thursday night when the first round commences. Remember last year when the Miami Dolphins drafted Ryan Tannehill, and wife Lauren Tannehill or Lauren Ufer “broke the internet.” There was search and social media activity then which rivaled Katherine Webb during the Crimson Tide crushing of Notre Dame in the title game.
Here’s my first round mock with the detailed player of analysis of the 2013 NFL Draft.
And our full 7 round mock of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Salorix, a social media firm, is analyzing tweets during the NFL Draft. Here’s what they’ve found so far.
Either Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis Twitter account (and it’s a verified account so it’s supposed to be Davis himself tweeting) blatantly violated NFL free agent tampering rules or……………….his claims of being hacked are true, and the Vontae Davis Twitter account is now doing damage control for him with subsequent tweets. At least the former Miami Dolphins and Illinois Fighting Illini corner didn’t do the usual delete-the-original-tweet-that-got-you-in-trouble bit.
It’s still there.
Stanford QB Andrew Luck is etched in stone as the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft later this month. The architecture student at the elite university known as The Farm has a fellow jock girlfriend on campus, gymnast Nicole Pechanec.

While battling the monstrous illness of leukemia, Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano received a massive outpouring of public support. The Indiana statehouse included the Chuckstrong term in its Christmas lights, the term itself became a national trend, Colts cheerleaders and players shaved their heads in support of him. Pagano will return to the sidelines and coach for the first time since being diagnosed in September.
He’ll prepare his team for the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Wild Card tomorrow with his leukemia fully in remission. h/t Helmet2Helmet
I never thought I’d see Ron Turner trending nationally on Twitter. I guess the Mayans were off by a couple weeks on that whole apocalypse thing. Turner is the brother of just fired San Diego Chargers coach Norv Turner, and lack of coaching ability runs in the family. Turner was previously offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears twice (1993-96) and (2005-2009). The Bears never won anything under his offenses. He had previously been a head coach at San Jose State and Illinois. Turner led Illinois from 1997-2004 and took the Illini to a Big Ten title in 2001. Turner went just 4-19 over his final two years at Illinois before being fired and replaced by Ron Zook.
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano took leave three months ago after being diagnosed with leukemia. The 52 year old even endured a multi-week stay in the hospital for treatment. The team rallied around him with the #chuckstrong motto. Team cheerleaders even shaved their heads to show solidarity with him. And today he’s coming to his coaching duties. He was cleared by doctors following his latest round of chemotherapy.
He also gave one hell of a pregame speech earlier this year
The Indianapolis Colts, against nearly all preseason odds, have secured perhaps one of the most remarkable one-year turnarounds in NFL history.
The Colts, who in 2011 endured a woeful 2-14 campaign and subsequently cleaned house to make way for No. 1 overall pick Andrew Luck, clinched a Wild Card berth in the AFC playoffs Sunday with their 10th win of the 2012 season, a rather ugly 20-13 triumph against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
While he wasn’t pretty for much of the contest, Luck set all sorts of records with the win, including breaking Cam Newton’s single-season rookie passing yardage mark and tying the record of seven game-winning drives in a single season.
Indianapolis wraps up the regular season against the Houston Texans next Sunday at 1 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium, and coach Chuck Pagano, who has missed each game since Week 3 while successfully undergoing treatment for leukemia, is slated to return to his post on the sidelines.
Find out who’s going to make the transition from Saturdays to Sundays with our picks below. We know the NFL mock draft is long so there’s plenty of eye candy pictures and relevant, fun links to check out as you scroll through it. Team needs were taken account into this mock and the order was determined by looking at recent NFL power rankings
