Indianapolis Colts Season Preview: never too early

With the NFL, there’s always a demand for discussion. In America, the NFL slaughters everything, with all other games a niche sport. Even college football, which clearly comes in second. However, it’s a distant second.

Anyway, let’s get this party started. We continue the never too early season preview series with the Indianapolis Colts.

The NFL released the 2014 regular season schedule just a few days ago and there are some great match ups each and every week obviously. Let’s have a look at a few to wet our chops. [Read more...]

Peyton Manning voted “most respected player in the NFL”

On Thursday, NFL Nation unveiled Peyton Manning as the “Most Respected Player in the NFL.” More survey results will be released leading up to the Super Bowl. It’s just another accolade and endorsement for Peyton Manning, who’s had a ton of them. Peyton Manning just threw for 400+ yards, a NFL conference championship record. They’ll face the winner of Seahawks-49ers in the Super Bowl.

Omaha! Omaha!: Manning’s pre-snap audible calls – “Omaha! Omaha!” – last Sunday made Nebraska’s largest city a trending topic on Twitter during the game. What the Indianapolis Colts need to fix in 2014

The Indianapolis Colts and the NFL postseason have now split due to “creative differences.” The NFL playoffs decided they “wanted some space” from the Colts. The January one-and-done tournament is “going in a different direction” from the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts clinched the NFL’s most awful division. That’s how they got to host a first round game. And the result was an “instant classic” for the ages. One of the greatest playoff games in NFL history in the win over the K.C. Chiefs.

Then tonight happened.

Sure, the Indianapolis Colts made the second season, but their end was quite unceremonious. How do they return to the postseason next fall?

Indianapolis Colts vs K.C. Chiefs: brutally honest playoff preview

I would say the Indianapolis Colts don’t really scare anyone heading into the NFL playoffs, as their performances in December left a lot to be desired. However, the last three Super Bowl champions all had at least 6 losses, so it really doesn’t matter all that much. The Indianapolis Colts, if they run the table this month would truly represent the “just get in” mentality that epitomizes what the NFL playoffs are today.

These days it’s basically March Madness, one and done, seeding doesn’t matter and anything can happen.
