Most people go to Paris and have some of the most memorable positive experiences of their lives. Of course, nearly every visitor to the city of light goes there for reasons other than to play professional football, and thus wouldn’t have the tumultuous stay that Paris Saint-Germain right back Serge Aurier has had.

Two days ago we learned that Aurier was a target of Manchester United. It turns out that Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan are keen on the 24-year-old as well. Reportedly, the young defender is thinking “Forget Paris” this summer transfer window (apologies to the name of the 1990s Billy Crystal RomCom).

Tottenham Hotspur Land in USA, Mauricio Pochettino Brought All the Big Names

mauricio pochettino

In each of the past two seasons, Tottenham Hotspur was the last team standing between the eventual Premier League champion and the big prize. It wasn’t until Spurs were mathematically eliminated in 2016 that Leicester City officially claimed the title; likewise last year with Chelsea.

Is this the season that Manager Mauricio Pochettino can get the White Hart Lane outfit over that final hurdle? Spurs have gotten themselves back into the top four/Champions League the past two seasons, now can they run that final mile? The journey begins now in the preseason as Spurs have touched down in the United States of America to begin their exhibition match tour.

Five 2017/2018 English Premier League Predictions

By George Cummins

Last year’s Premier League had all the makings of a classic sitcom.

Victors Chelsea looked anything but at the beginning, having got off to a bit of a bad start. But, after Leicester City’s shock win the season before, anything was possible. Spurs – not quite one of the ‘Big Four,’ but getting closer, had a great season, but they lost steam down the stretch. Still they gathered enough to stay in the running for the top spot longer than any other challenger to Chelsea.

With the splash signing of primary target Romelu Lukaku now complete, Manchester United shift gears to the next summer transfer window acquisition. On top of all that, article links are often plugged on social media with the official account of the athlete “tagged.”

Manchester United Transfer Rumors: Nemanja Matic, Fabinho, Eric Dier

Conventional wisdom holds that Manchester United will be buying four new player this summer transfer window- a defender, striker, holding midfielder and a winger. On the striker front- it appears to be Alvaro Morata (here’s a link to the latest on that). In the back line, Victor Lindelof seems to be the guy and he might be the first transaction completed (here’s a link to the latest on that).

Regarding a holding midfielder, the idea here is that Jose Mourinho would be able to find a guy who could get the very best Paul Pogba return on investment. The club extended Michael Carrick another year, but this summer they’re reportedly seeking a long term anchor. Perhaps it could be Nemanja Matic.

The ground opened its doors in 1899, and hosted the 2,533rd and final match against a United side that had already essentially checked out of the Premier League this season.

While United wasn’t all mentally and psychologically there, the White Hart Lane crowd was “all in” and emotionally engaged. It was an emotional triumph for Spurs, and the Spurs supporter community.
